He studies disaster and safety education through the perspectives of social science and educational technology. At Kumamoto University’s graduate school, he works on educational technology, design research, learning design, instructional design, learning management systems (LMS), and generative-AI-assisted prototyping, connecting questions from professional practice in international health support, crisis response, telecommunications and information, and workforce development with his research.
His current research interests connect psychology, cognition, and behavior with disaster information and educational systems to move knowledge into context-sensitive decisions and resilient action. He also approaches AI, localization, and data annotation as design perspectives for learning systems suited to multilingual and cross-cultural settings.

Professional experience across Japan, China, and India has exposed recurring constraints involving connectivity, language and culture, time pressure, and uncertainty in available information. The research now reframes these constraints as design questions for disaster and safety education, educational technology, and AI-supported learning systems.

Against a background of more frequent, severe, and diverse hazards, social instability, and rapid technological change, the research asks how disaster and safety education can move beyond knowledge transmission toward decisions and action.
The central questions concern how to establish theories and methods for educational systems, use AI and extended reality for clearly defined educational purposes, examine psychological, cognitive, and behavioral processes, evaluate learning and action, and support sustained adoption in communities and organizations. A further question is how AI quality evaluation, localization engineering, data annotation, and prototyping with learning management systems and Moodle can support multilingual disaster-information learning while testing accuracy, cultural fit, safety, and accessibility.
